I had an insight and came up with different categories of parents:
First, parents are aware and unhappy with their current situations and do not think there is a way out of it. They consider their conditions to be destiny and there is nothing they can do to improve it. They take no action.
Second, parents are aware and unhappy with their current situations, they admire others who seem prosperous, yet fear to act due to uncertainties and the unknown. They have lost their independence and the uncomfortableness they know is better than walking into new grounds.
Third, parents are aware and unhappy with their current situations. They are willing to act to change their family situations, yet they get discouraged by other family members and friends who want them to remain in the same situation as they are. The family and friends do not want to support others to change as they fear being left behind.
Fourth, parents are aware and unhappy with their current situations. They are willing and committed to make changes. They start and engagement is good, but they get distracted. They stop along the way because of lack of motivation, they seek approval, yet they get shamed and being discounted.
Finally, parents are aware and unhappy with their current situations. They are the dire hearts who want to do everything and anything to improve themselves first and then effect change and impact on their families and the world. They consider unending temptations, istractions, and challenges as opportunities for personal growth and development. They know the risks of either making change or do nothing are HARD, yet they choose to make the necessary changes.
They believe it is worst to remain in a position that they do not belong.
Examine and question; how does my parenting impact on my children?
