As a child, I heard about ‘Wisdom’ and ‘Wise’ people such as King Solomon 👑 and the Three Magi from my Sunday School Bible lessons 🔰. Naively I associated wisdom to old people and grey hair 👳♂️. Wisdom is made up of three components including knowledge, understanding, and applying them.
Knowledge alone is not enough to meet life’s problems; we need wisdom to handle life skilfully. We are educated to earn a living 🛒🚞, and we do not know how to handle life itself. When we acquire knowledge, it is easy to feel we know everything and discount the idea that there is more to learn about
After years of my transformation journey, I have learnt and realised that we carry wisdom within us. However, due to fears placed on us by our society, high expectations and many life distractions, we forget part of who we are. Thus, we put wisdom on hold.
When I decided to learn to become wiser, I realised how foolish I had been. I blamed other people and situations for mistakes in my life. To know our true self, we must allow our feelings out 😱. Else, it is a blockage from reaching our maximum potential.
👉 Wisdom helps us to understand right from wrong;
👉 Wisdom is one of the greatest qualities a person can possess;
👉 Wisdom is greater than materialistic things such as gold, silver, etc.;
👉 Mastering and exercising wisdom leads to happiness, long and fulfilled life.
To grow in wisdom:
✔ Go closer to the source – be it God or the universe;
✔ distance yourself from the noisiness around the world;
✔ Look within yourself;
✔ Know thyself;
✔ Work on areas needing improvement.
